Hi Diana
This is one of the best written, concise explanations of why people should avoid feeding their animals with commercial food.
JFTR if anybody is switching from commercial to raw then the change may create a some diarrhoea but is should only last a day or two and then your animal will be looking forward to better health and smaller vets bills in the long run!

This is so true. In nature, wolves and other animals need to hide their pain so that other animals don't see their vulnerability and attack them. We need to recognize that our pets have carried the same traits as wild animals as well and watch out for signs for pain in our pets.

In my experience bathing cats is only done by the very brave or very reckless! Fortunately cats are very adept at keeping themselves clean.

Tip; for the friend to assist, have him/her simultaneously at the nap of the neck and the top of the lower back area slightly put pressure downward so that the cat cannot get motion to jump to escape while bathing. I do the face last with wiping only with water after removing the cat from the bath rinse water & totally engulfing the cat in a wrapped towel with just the head showing to work on.

Oh, also please remind the cat bather that one must not use dog shampoo as a substitution for cat shampoo. Even in small amounts my vet says it is toxic to the cat.
